Ramadan Sobhi Close to Signing with a New Premier League Club
The 21 year old winger is about to embark on a new adventure.
Ramadan Sobhi is close to signing to Premier League club Huddersfield, according to Egypt Today. Sobhi’s agent Nader Shawky announced that the 21 year old received several offers from Premier League clubs, but finally opted for Huddersfield Town, who placed 16th in the league last season.
The Egyptian winger was allowed to leave the national team camp to travel to England to do his medical tests with the club on Saturday, but has already returned to join his teammates back in Italy preparing for the approaching World Cup.
Ramadan joined The Potters for £5M in 2016, and was the first teenager who started a game for the club in 9 years. Although the winger’s contract only runs out in 2022, Stoke City’s relegation to the Championship may have been a deciding factor in Sobhi’s imminent move.
This is a great move for the young Egyptian, who featured 28 times this season for relegated club Stoke City, but never really managed to solidify his place in the starting 11 after scoring only 4 goals.
Ramadan has yet to set the league on fire, but time is on his side, and he will be hoping to be able to prove himself to Huddersfield manager David Wagner next season.
