A Virtual Visit to the Pyramids

Let's admit it - it's too hot out to visit the corner store, let alone the Pyramids. We've found an awesome site that gives you the experience without ever leaving your home.

A Virtual Visit to the Pyramids

Ever wanted to explore the ancient Pyramids without being harassed by children selling you ten dollar Mars bars, or harassers trying to lump you on a camel for a hundred? We recently stumbled upon an incredible new website application called Giza 3D that allows you to visit one of the man-made wonders of the world from the comfort of your air-conditioned room. Not likely to deter tourists from still coming obviously, but as far as an educational piece of virtual reality goes, it's pretty spectacular.

Giza 3D designed by Dassault Systems, allows you to emerge yourself into the land of the Pharaohs at the time of the Pyramids construction and move through the Giza Plateau of Khufu as if you are one of this builders. It's a great little piece of technology for Egyptology enthusiasts, professors and lazy tourists.

Check it out here.
