Khawla Art and Culture Hosts Arab-Japanese Calligraphy Exhibition

In cooperation with the Japanese Embassy in the UAE, Khawla Art and Culture is hosting a calligraphy exhibition at its Abu Dhabi headquarters, showcasing works by acclaimed Japanese calligrapher Yoshikawa Juichi.

Open until April 30th, the exhibition includes two artworks jointly created by Yoshikawa and H.H. Sheikha Khawla bint Ahmed Khalifa Al Suqaidi, wife of the deputy ruler of Abu Dhabi H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The artworks are titled ‘Peace’ and ‘Harmony, Respect, Purity and Tranquility’.

The exhibition also displays solo works by Yoshikawa, where the immortal art of Japanese calligraphy meets the beauty of calligraphy in the Arabic language, combining to form swirling saturated lines of colour, ranging from delicate strokes to bold shapes and designs.

The exhibition is open everyday from 10 AM to 7 PM, and entrance is free of charge.
