The play will run from February 6th to February 8th at 6th of October City. Just make sure you keep all those numbers straight.
It’s gonna be time to roll out our magic carpets and hop on for a ride as Cairo Show Theatre brings Aladdin to Cairo for its Egyptian theatrical debut! The play, starring Ahmed Ezz as Aladdin and Tara Emad as Jasmine, will premiere on February 6th in the Cairo Theatre in 6th of October and will run until February 8th.
This version of Aladdin originally came out in Saudi Arabia back in December as part of Riyadh season. But soon the Egyptian-led show is coming home to roost at the Cairo Show Theatre, where they're also showing the acclaimed production of 'King Lear' starring Yehia El-Fakharany, and celebrating their one-year anniversary of 'Talat Ayam f El-Sahel' starring the one and only Mohamed Henedy.
We expect this depiction of the magical story to serve us some straight-up nostalgia. Yeah, it's not Disney, and it sure as heck doesn't have a freakish CGI Will Smith, but we're still interested in seeing how such a familiar story pans out on the inimitable Egyptian stage.
