Central Bank of Egypt Allocates USD 100M for Basic Food Commodities

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) will allocate USD 100 million for basic food commodities, including edible oil and dairy products. The announcement came during a meeting held between Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Dr. Ali Al-Moselhi, and Hassan Abdullah, the governor of CBE.
The meeting was part of the state’s ongoing efforts to ensure that essential goods and food commodities become more affordable for Egyptian citizens by providing the necessary dollar component.
