Egypt Health Ministry Closes 12 Psychiatric and Rehab Centres

During a press conference on Wednesday, Health Minister Adel Adawy has announced the closing down of 12 psychiatric and rehab centres for practicing without a license. The minister went on to say that the ministry has filed a police report with the names of the unregistered practitioners in addition to informing the General Secretariat for Mental Health of the facilities, adding a warning for doctors not to work in unregistered practices. This follows a campaign launched targeting non-governmental practises that are not registered and do not have the appropriate license.
