Exhibition Honouring Author Naguib Mahfouz Goes On Nationwide Tour
First launched at the Cairo Opera House, the exhibition will tour through many of Egypt’s governorates in honour of the writer’s 111th birthday.
In honour of the 111th birthday of renowned author and Nobel Prize winner Naguib Mahfouz, the Ministry of Culture is putting on an exhibition dedicated to his legacy and touring it all across Egypt.
First launched in Cairo Opera House’s Hanager Theatre, the exhibition will be displayed throughout many of Egypt’s governorates, starting with the New Valley governorate, which is playing host to the 35th edition of the Egyptian Writers Conference. The exhibition features contemporary art pieces inspired by Mahfouz’s stories, along with personal documents following his career. Over the next month, the Ministry of Culture will hold various screenings and events celebrating the late writer and his contribution to Egyptian literature, including panel discussions and conferences discussing his extensive works.
