Kharga Oasis Named Arab Environment Capital Setting Regional Benchmark

Nestled in the heart of Egypt’s Western Desert, the Kharga Oasis has claimed the title of Arab Capital of Environment by the Council of Arab Ministers Responsible for the Environment (CAMRE).

In the lead up to COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh, the innovative integration of environmental protection practices diligently communicated with and embraced by the local community, coupled with the climate-conscious remodeling of ongoing development plans in the area have set Kharga apart from a slew of competitors vying for the prestigious accolade.
