Morsi and Hash Don't Mix

The son of ousted president Mohamed Morsi has been detained after he was found with hashish joints.

Staff Writer

Qalyubia police confirmed that, early on Saturday, the son of ousted president Mohamed Morsi, was arrested in Obour City for possession of hashish.

Abdullah Morsi was detained along with another man after police became suspicious of the car he was driving which had tinted windows;  an ironic turn of events seeing as those windows were probably the only thing hiding him from the outside world and looks of disdain. Well, that and the hash joints he was caught with, of course. But can you blame him? Imagine being in school and all the kids bullying you because your dad is embarrassing. Now imagine tens of millions taking the piss out of your father... It's a natural reaction to want to float as your world crumbles around you but it's also a microcosm of the problems Morsi faced and would have always come against, in that a new generation of kids are wiser to the stringent dogmatism enforced by the Muslim Brotherhood that simply isn’t in line with their desires; even for the son of the Brotherhood leader. Abdullah has since been released, pending an investigation.

Abdullah, pass by the CairoScene office any time, we'll have a joint and discuss how we can legalise it.
