Saudi Arabia Ranks First Globally for Women’s Representation in AI
According to Stanford University’s 2025 AI Index Report, Saudi Arabia leads the world in female-to-male participation in AI.

Saudi Arabia has been ranked first globally for women’s representation in artificial intelligence, according to the 2025 AI Index Report released by Stanford University’s Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI). The Kingdom secured the top spot based on the female-to-male ratio in the AI workforce, reflecting a significant shift toward gender inclusivity in the tech sector.
This global recognition aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals, which emphasise advancing women’s participation and leadership across strategic sectors, including science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The report highlights Saudi Arabia’s efforts to position itself as a global hub for AI development and innovation.
In addition to leading in women’s empowerment in AI, the Kingdom ranked third in AI job growth for 2024, signalling robust expansion in employment opportunities within the sector. Saudi Arabia also placed fourth worldwide in the number of published large language models, joining the ranks of leading AI nations such as the United States, China, France, Canada, and South Korea.
