It looks like "Shahid and chill" will be the new "Netflix and chill" since MBC group revealed last night that over 3000 hours of Spotify, Fox and Disney content will be available for streaming for Shahid users. Stars such as Menna Shalaby, Cyrine Abdelnoor, Amina Khalil and Asser Yassin were at the star-studded ceremony at the Dubai Opera. Also in attendance for the big reveal were superstars Amr Youssef, Ahmed Dawood and Tamer Habib.

Shahid, the Middle East's first VOD service will also be introducing original series and movies. MBC Group Chairman Waleed Al-Ibrahim shared that the company strives to take control of their own narratives, showcasing our stories to the rest of the world through the very best in original films, series and other media content." To commemorate this collaboration, MBC group illuminated Burj Khalifa with "this is our time" and will be offering a 70% discount for Shahid VIP for a limited time.

Some Disney films have already been released on the service, such as Maleficent, Frozen and the legendary "Lion King." Also available are Marvel movies such as The Avengers and Iron Man 3. We didn't exactly need another service to keep us curled up in a ball on the couch binging the TV, but we're not really complaining, either. Here's to hoping The Mandalorian will be on the list. It seems like there's nothing left to do but call in sick to work and let the marathon begin.
