US Thinktank Tells Amnesty Intl to 'Suck It'

A US-based thinktank was forced to issue a grovelling apology after telling the human rights group Amnesty International to “suck it” on Twitter.

The fracas started when Amnesty posted a tweet critical of America’s human rights record.

Moments later, somebody with access to the Twitter feed for the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Twitter account replied: “Your work has saved far fewer lives than American interventions. So. suck it.”

The image went viral on social media and CSIS was forced to apologise moments later.

CSIS is a 52-year-old Washington DC thinktank that often consults on foreign relations and international policy.
