The smartphone world has lost a lot of its magic these days. At first, it was like every six months saw a wicked amazing new device come out that totally changed the game. Not many manufacturers have that same kind of allure anymore. Even some of the big names have lost their edge, but that just opens up opportunities for newcomers. One of the biggest disrupters in the game is Huawei. Though they might not be the most recognisable name in the game, they are poised to take over the world, and Egypt along with it.
To celebrate the opening of their shiny new store in Citystars, which is their first in North Africa, as well as the launch of their swanky new handset – the Mate 8 – Huawei brought in several of El Ahly Football Club's finest – such as Shady Mohamed, Wael Chetos, and Mohamed Farouk – to join the party at their first store in Egypt. Huawei’s very own vice president was on hand as well, alongside several of their Egyptian partners, to give away mobiles and Ahly shirts with a ‘lucky draw' contest as part of the opening.
They are also giving fans the chance to become a part of the next campaign with a social media contest wherein the poster with the most likes becomes the star of the next Huawei ad campaign. The trick is that you've gotta to find the Huawei booth at the participating malls as Huawei takes their show on the road and start snapping selfies with your dearly beloved Huawei device. You could end up plastered all over billboards of Cairo just like you've always wanted. Huawei will bevisiting Alexandria City Centre next, as well as El Gouna for the Easter holiday in their continued quest for the Huawei Star.
Huawei may not be a household name yet, but since they’ve recently become the mobile manufacturer third biggest market share in the world, and continue to pump out some of the coolest phones on the market, it’s only a matter of time before they take over.
