Inca: Stories in Fabric
We take the first look at new fabrics, fashion and furniture brand Inca, and learn more about the blossoming new line from the founders.
When you hear the word fabric, your first internal instinct isn’t oooh awesome; it’s more oh crap is my mother going to take me fabric shopping again to reupholster the furniture? Except the newest boho store set to hit Cairo very shortly, will make you think the former. The brand, founded by Mostafa El Nahawy, Mostafa Korany, and Ahmed Fadda, is dedicated to designing gorgeously bohemian, artistic home fabrics and will makes you rethink everything you ever thought about material. “Inca is essentially a lifestyle brand inspired by unconventional travels,” El Nahawy tells us. “We design handmade fabrics ourselves, inspired by the stories and cultures of different cities; there’s a Marrakesh story, a Mykonos story, a Mexico story…and they each pay artistic homage to that place.”
Their Instagram feed is a wonderland of patterns and colours and makes you feel like you jumped inside a Skittles rainbow. The brand features both the fabrics themselves which you can purchase alone or you can select from an array of cool quirky furniture pieces in the form of Technicolor overstuffed floor cushions, ottomans, and throw pillows. They’ve started releasing snaps from their launch shoot, and it makes us feel like running away to the beach and never coming back again. You can check out the full campaign by clicking through the slideshow on above and check out the rest of the shots below.
