Beats of the Month | October
This month’s picks include beats by Al Nather, Hady Moamer and Abyusif.
In this month’s edition of Beats of the Month, we’re highlighting some standout rap instrumentals that made us sit back, listen closely, and truly appreciate the craft and technical skill behind their production. Our criteria are subjective - so please excuse our biases - but after listening to countless hip-hop releases from the past month, we’ve selected a few that struck us as particularly creative, adventurous and compelling. This month’s picks include beats by Al Nather, Hady Moamer and Abyusif.
One of the most notable tracks we encountered is Al Nather’s instrumental for ‘Intidab’, a track steeped in bleak atmosphere. It features deeply layered synth lines over minimal, relaxed percussion, creating an eerie ambience that complements Shabjdeed’s introspective lyrics and contemplative tone.
We’re also spotlighting Hady Moamer’s self-produced track ‘El 3azamah Lelah’, a string-driven trap piece and a high point on his latest album. Hady uses a haunting string sample that loops throughout the track, while the beat progresses with subtle tweaks to the drum and bass lines. This dynamic keeps the track fresh, allowing the three rappers - Hady, Khaled Rossia and Ziad Zaza - to seamlessly trade verses without it feeling repetitive.
Finally, we have Abyusif’s latest production for Lella Fadda’s single ‘Hob Bas Eh’, where Abyusif dives into a mahraganat-inspired style. He crafts a swinging beat anchored by driving tabla percussion and bass-heavy synths that perfectly support Lella’s dynamic delivery.
