Biometric Face Scanners Replace Boarding Passes at Riyadh Airport
A new era of seamless travel from the Saudi Arabian capital will make your face the only boarding pass you need.
Mar 05, 2023

The government of Riyadh has announced that biometric face-scanners will replace boarding passes for all airport travellers from within the capital.
Instead of using a printed or digital boarding pass, passengers at King Khalid International Airport will simply look at a screen to pass through, cutting down check-in times drastically. This paves the way for a new era of seamless travel from the city while introducing a new element of security to the process, thanks to a partnership between the aviation company and global technology provider, SITA.
