Egypt’s Mercure Hurghada Hotel Set for $49M Makeover Under Mövenpick

Sun-soaked shores and lavish makeovers—Hurghada’s hospitality scene is set for a major transformation.

The UAE’s Abu Dhabi Tourism Investment Company (ADTIC) has teamed up with global hotel giant Accor to transform the Mercure Hurghada Hotel on Egypt’s Red Sea into a Mövenpick property, with a renovation budget of USD 49 million.

Slated for completion by March 2026, the revamped hotel will feature redesigned rooms, cutting-edge dining options, and upgraded leisure facilities—all set against the backdrop of Hurghada’s stunning coastline.

Part of a wider wave of Gulf-driven investments reshaping Egypt’s tourism landscape, the rebrand keeps Accor at the helm and expands its regional portfolio, joining iconic properties like Mövenpick Sharm El Sheikh and the upcoming Sofitel Legend Hotel in Giza.
