Mubarak Just Got Released from Prison

The East Cairo Prosecution, under Attorney General of Prosecutions Ibrahim Saleh’s supervision, has acquitted ousted Egyptian President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak, so today is the day he walks free to go have a drink at the Marriott or whatever he likes to do when he's no longer wanted for mass murder and corruption.

The Egyptian Court of Cassation ruled in Mubarak’s favour last week, having deemed him innocent of killing protesters who took to Tahrir Square in January 2011 to demand his resignation.

He had been held pending trials for the last 3 years after having been charged with corruption and the killing of protesters, the latter would have put him in prison for the rest of his life. The court ruled that the 3 years he already served would suffice for his corruption charges, and since he has been acquitted of killing protesters, he is set for release on time-served.
