Sahel Gets Greek
The team behind The Smokery are opening up a second sexy new location at Marassi this Eid, as well as a brand new concept restaurant and bar at Bianchi, inspired by Greece.
Having already taken New Cairo by storm with The Smokery, the team that brought us sexy cocktails and fresh salmon by the platter load are heading to the North Coast with a brand new concept restaurant and lounge, inspired by the not-too distant Greece that we often ponder whether or not we can swim to when we’re in Sahel. Introducing Astoria – Bianchi’s latest hot spot. Opening just in time for Eid, by day Astoria is a traditional Greek Taverna, serving up specialties like Gyros (NOT the same as shawerma, trust us), Souvlaki, Feta cheese as far as the eye can see and more authentic dishes, the venue will transport you to the Land of the Gods from the first bite.
But it doesn’t stop there. While authentic food, crystal clear seas and picturesque white houses dotted in the cliffs might be what you first imagine when you think of Greece, it’s more likely that you think of Mykonos. Astoria has that covered too as every Friday they turn into a banging beach club – but only a select few will receive a literal message in a bottle (the coolest invites we’ve seen in ages!) to attend their swanky soirees. With DJ Lyon on the decks, an unparalleled view and a whole host of guest acts lined up to entertain throughout the month of August, this is going to be quite the venue.
Better yet, as we migrate to Sahel for the month, we won’t have to miss out on The Smokery’s signature dishes as they’re opening up a seasonal restaurant in none other than Marassi. The gorgeous new restaurant will sit atop the water, floating as you fill up on fresh seafood or just grab a drink or two at the bar. That’s our summer sorted.
