Who I Follow: Ashraf Hamdi

Coming into prominence with his original mini-series for MBC Action, Classified, Jack of all trades Ashraf Hamdi is currently shooting as one of the main roles in the Hefzy-produced, Mohammed Diab-directed post-revolution thriller Clash. Actor, director and photographer, the silverscreen heart-throb has amassed a huge following on social media with his whimsical cinematic photography, behind-the-scene snippets and the mandatory stylish selfie or ten. But when not pretending to be someone else, who is Ashraf Hamdi? Here he lets us in on which Instagram accounts he's flicking through for inspiration on set... (You can follow him at @AshrafHamdiWorld)

@Cesinha - A photographer from Brazil who posts pictures taken with his iPhone yet they look like they're shot on film. He creates nice creative ideas for each picture, and his editing always looks great.

ADDP - A female cinematographer. She posts pictures and stills from the movies she films plus other personal pics. I like her cinematography stills and I always want to keep updated with her indie movies.

@Papa2 Another cinematographer originally from Greece but a US resident. He has amazing stills from more famous movies and his editing and framing are just gorgeous and inspiring.

@chivexp My favourite, and the cinematographer of Gravity, Birdman and all the Terrance Malik movies; pretty much all my favourite films, but actually when he posts, he posts interesting pictures captured from locations while filming, which are pictures you don't see in his films... so it gives you an extra artistic fix.

@el_mustachios - Mainly for his videos, because his cinematography and direction is a bit similar to mine and I love to keep updated with his work.

Philip Glass is perfect, except that he forgot an "L" in his name.

@thefancyriot - An interesting, sexy, artsy woman who is living on the go, journeying with her boyfriend, @kennysweeney411, who always takes pictures of her body parts or quarters of her body, as well as her photography that is very nomadic and unorganised yet you see something interesting in it.

@stayklassi - Gorgeous face.
