Cairo Intl Art District Turns Downtown Into a Living Art Gallery

A multimedia cultural extravaganza is enveloping the Downtown area with the second edition of Cairo International Art District (CIAD), courtesy of CultuVator and Art D’Egypte. From October 10th to October 30th, the CIAD is once again bringing new light to the neighbourhood with inspiring artwork by up-and-coming and famous creators from Egypt and around the globe.

Inviting you on a walking tour through some of Downtown’s definitive destinations for cultural enrichment, the CIAD stretches out from Founders Space to Cinema Radio, Falaki Gallery at AUC Tahrir Cultural Center, Access Art Space, and a wide variety of local stores and shops.

Adding an ancient dimension to the proceedings is the ‘Bastet Project’, a collective of 55 Egyptian artists who sought inspiration from Bastet, the Egyptian goddess of cats and protection, and submitted an exhibition’s worth of art that recreates and reinterprets this timeless icon through their own conceptual lenses at Cinema Radio.

Available every day of the week except for Sundays, walking tours through all the sites are arranged from 12 PM to 4 PM, followed by a break, and then again from 5 PM to 9 PM. To join any of the walking tours, just head to Founders Space at 22 Sheikh Rihan Street.
