Cairo Runners Are Painting Downtown Cairo Red and White This Weekend

It's about damn time! We've seen the team behind Cairo Runners turn their brainchild into a massive movement, running for kilometres on end – from taking spins in Maadi to running tracks in Zamalek. They've run for charity and donations, to raise awareness, and for the incomparable sense of feeling absolutely and refreshingly healthy. This time around, the superstars finally get a chance to run in the core of Downtown Cairo this Friday! Powered by Ismailia for Real Estate's affinity for all that's downtowny, on December 2nd, Cairo Runners will be crossing 4 km of our beautiful city's past and present in the Geneva Run.

Sponsored by The Embassy of Switzerland in Egypt, the run will start at 7:45 AM right at the majestic Abdeen Palace; the finish line is at the Swiss Arts Council in Garden City. That's what we call good bilateral relations! Since both our flags have red and white, why don't you show up sporting in these beautiful colours? From far away, it'll look like Downtown Cairo is flooded with really fit Santa Clauses. If you're coming by car, the organisers suggest parking at Tahrir Garage and then hopping on their buses that will take you to Abdeen. If you're coming in with public transportation, hop off at the Mohamed Naguib metro station and make it to the starting point. It's a two minute walk, but it will sure get you a head start.

Just picture it – running through the magical city can only happen once in a blue moon. So, take the opportunity and get your gears going and join the runners! We're just hoping we can actually run and not get distracted by the enchanting Downtown Cairo on a quiet and empty Friday morning.
