Egyptian Actress Rosaline Elbay Stars in Netflix Series ‘Kaleidoscope’

Rosaline Elbay - the Egyptian actress who found fame through her roles as Amani on Hulu’s hit show ‘Ramy’ and Sara on the MBC Masr series ‘Qabeel’ - is expanding on her global repertoire and starring in the new Netflix series, Kaleidoscope.

Kaleidoscope is an anthology series re-imagining crime as a literary and film genre through its complex depiction of a heated heist. Spanning 25 years, the show follows a group of thieves working to unlock a seemingly unbreakable vault in the hopes of unraveling the biggest payday in history, depicted by a rich cast that includes the likes of Giancarlo Esposito, Paz Vega, Rufus Sewell, Tati Gabrielle, Peter Mark Kendall, Jai Courtney, Niousha Noor, Jordan Mendoza, Soojeong Son and Hemky Madera,

“Allowing Netflix viewers to stream the show in any way they please is an ambitious and innovative idea that everyone is extremely proud to be a part of,” Elbay tells #CairoScene. “Eric Garcia put a lot of faith and trust in us, especially when it came to plotting Judie’s character development, an experience that I truly cherish.”

With a degree in Classical Archeology and a Master’s in Colonial History, Rosaline Elbay’s multi-ethinic roots and witty demeanor have granted her an all access pass to the world of cinema. At the tender age of 11, the budding actress starred in a production of Sound of Music, a move that enabled her to actualise her passion and, in turn, bolster a talent strong enough to withstand the western gaze.
