The Egyptian Space Agency Plans to Build and Launch their own satellites

On Monday, Egypt's higher Education and Scientific Research Minister Khaled Abdel-Ghafar announced the launching of a programme to start manufacturing and launch their own small satellites.

The plan involves a cooperative effort between the Egyptian Space Agency (ESA), the Academy for Scientific Research and Technology as well as the Supreme Council of Universities.

The announcement was made by the minister while chairing the first meeting of the ESA board and mentioned that today a high-level delegation from the French Space Agency would arrive to discuss cooperative efforts in the field of space technology. The meeting's goal will be to sign a memorandum of understanding between both countries to help with this programme.

This news comes off the heels of another exciting announcement made last month that the Egyptian Space Agency are looking for Egyptian candidates to send to space.
