Haramain Railway Sets 48,000 Passenger Record During Ramadan
The high speed train hit its record after increasing the number of trips to 130 trips per day.

The Haramain High Speed Railway – the fastest means of transportation between Jeddah and Makkah, and between Makkah and Madinah – recorded its highest number of daily passengers since its launch in 2018.
The number of passengers reached over 48,000 halfway through Ramadan on March 15th. Since the beginning of the holy month, the average daily passenger count has exceeded 39,000. The record was achieved after the Saudi Railways Company (SAR) gradually increased the number of trips to 130 trips per day for the last ten days of Ramadan.
Before the start of the season, the Haramain train provided 1.6 million seats across more than 3,400 trips. The high speed train operates on a 453-kilometer electric line and is ranked among the 10 fastest trains in the world, with an operational speed of up to 300 km/h.
