Bringing his unique jazz fusion stylings to none other than our very own Cairo Jazz Club on Tuesday, October 14, is Australian-Egyptian oud virtuoso Joseph Tawadros.
Born in Cairo and having immigrated to Australia in 1986, at the mere age of three, Tawadros is the grandson of renowned Egyptian oud player and violinist, Mansi Habib. His style incorporates the rich tradition of the Arabic maqam with modern jazz improv stylings, having worked with such renowned jazz veterans as Christian McBride.
Tawadros has toured throughout America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, and will be bringing his unique sound to our favourite music hub right here in Cairo.
Opening for Tawadros at 10:00 pm are Safi Band and saxophonist Nour Ashour, for what is sure to be a great night for oriental jazz and music buffs.
For more information, check out the Facebook event here, or Joseph Tawadros' website.
