Trial Operation for the East Nile Monorail Will Begin On November 5th
Egypt aims to spend EGP 400 billion by 2030 to complete ongoing projects and establish a total of five subway lines.

The Ministry of Transport announced that the East Nile Monorail is scheduled to undergo passengerless testing on November 5th, 2023.
The government of Egypt aims to spend EGP 400 billion by 2030 to complete ongoing projects and establish a total of five subway lines. Currently, efforts are underway to construct the fourth metro line, with the feasibility of a sixth line being assessed. Once these projects are realised, Egypt's metro network will span 2,700 kilometres, and will be capable of transporting 13.5 million passengers and 12 million tonnes of goods annually.
To ensure optimal service, the first and second metro lines will undergo renovation in the near future.
