Xavi To Train Egyptian Youngsters in December

It isn’t often that young Egyptian footballers get the chance to be trained by a superstar who has held both the World Cup and the Champions League trophy. However, this December none other than Xavi Hernandez will be arriving in Palm Hills Club, 6th of October City to do just that.

The announcement made by Palm Hills Developments is sure to excite many as the Spain national team's former captain is set to train over 500 youngsters at Palm Hills Club, home of the Barcelona Football School “FCBEscola” in Egypt.

According to a Facebook post by Co-CEO of Palm Hills, Tarek Abdel Rahman, "Our agreement with Xavi Hernandez truly reflects Palm Hills’ slogan, Building On, in particular to developing our youth, with an aim to create a promising future for the next batch of Egyptian superstars."

The Barcelona captain is expected to hold a press conference in Barcelona’s Stadium Camp Nou to announce the details of his first time training tour in the Middle East or Africa. As it stands, the football camp is expected to be held for five days starting on December 19 and ending on December 23.

The Palm Hills CEO is quoted by Kingfut.com as saying, “The agreement with Xavi is a part of our strategy to promote Egypt worldwide through hosting major events with international flavour. Xavi is a football icon and has fans all over the world, which would direct the world attention to Egypt.”

The move to bring Xavi to Egypt, even if only for a short period, is essentially a brilliant PR strategy that will have Palm Hills Development appreciated for more than just developing homes, but respected for helping develop this nation’s future football stars.
