Egypt Could Soon Make Travel Insurance Mandatory for Tourists
New cautionary measures are being considered for tourists coming to Egypt.
Travelers coming to Egypt may soon be forced to purchase travel insurance before being granted entry to the country, according to Express.
The new policy would cover personal accidents, total disability, death and medical treatments. In Egypt, hot air balloon and camel rides are considered to be some of the riskier activities that a tourist may want to scratch off their bucket list.
Travel insurance already exists in other countries such the Netherlands, Russia, and Cuba. According to the International Travel & Health Insurance Journal, this new rule has been considered in Egypt for a while due to a number of violent incidents. However, it is now considered a more urgent matter following the shocking deaths of two Brits in Hurghada.
