Four Seasons First Residence is Egypt's First Hotel to Install Electric Car-Charging Station

Over the past couple of years, Egypt has made headway in working towards a more eco-friendly economy. We're currently building some of the world's biggest solar panel and wind-turbines  farms, and our nuclear power plant finally has a timeline. Also, as recently reported, Egypt is building its first locally-produced electric car.  

Joining in the government's efforts is Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence, which just became the first hotel in Egypt to install an electric car-charging station, which is now fully-operational. “We pride ourselves as the first hotel in Egypt to install an electric car-charging station," said Mahmoud ElKeiy, General Manager of the hotel, to CairoScene."It is essential we protect the environment, which not only will save gas emissions and energy but it will also empower our guests to live sustainably, and become a valuable convenience for them to use during their stay with us."

The brand new charging station works with a variety of vehicles, such as plug-in electric vehicles and hybrids, according to ElKeiy. For a full-battery, vehicles get charged for eight straight hours, however a 2-hour charging session is enough for 500-km drive, basically to Alexandria and back.
